There are many ways to get web traffic free but I have found that article marketing or B.U.M is the best.

Why? Here’s some of many reasons:

• You get instant links that the SEO’s…Google, MSN love since they come from related, topical web sites to the topic of your article.
• You obtain some degree of expertise, or become a noted author on the niche, subject you write about. This helps with getting your website listed higher in the SE’s as well as increase your CR (conversion rate) if you are selling a product, either you’re own or an affiliate.
• Once you submit to article directories your article will be found there for months if not years, especially if you write about a ‘hot’ topic and write it well.
• Increase in web traffic, although not a flood but a nice, steady flow of traffic and these visitors are highly motivated to look to buy a related product.
• Even if you can’t write or don’t want to write, you can outsource to ghost write your articles for usually $5-$10 per article.

These are just some if not all the benefits of BUM marketing but there are some essential tricks to make your articles read, picked up by other web sites or ezines and get people to click on your links.

Here are some of those tricks:

1. Pick a niche or subject that is hot. One that not only has people eager to read more information but have money they are willing to spend. The whole idea of BUM marketing is to get web traffic to buy your product or service!

2. Make the title attention-getting. Most of us will scan the titles in a directory and click on the one that catches are eye. Use words like Amazing, 10 Ways To…How To…Make Money In 6 Seconds With…, How I Made $30,000 in 1 Minute!, If You Want ______Don’t Do This! etc.

3. Review other bio or resource boxes and copy the ones that stand out. Why create the wheel when it’s already been invented?

Basically, keep two things in mind. People want to avoid pain or gain pleasure. Simple eh? Show them how by reading your article they will not experience the pain of…or will be able to get, have, and achieve _____

Keep your title short and to the point, most directories have a limit on characters.

Ok, you want to start BUM marketing. But how do you get started? Well start writing! :o) That is true but what if you don’t know what to write or can’t write?

To find niches or topics you can go to Google’s Trends, visit forums in the market (to find forums look at eboards.com or type in the topic area with forum, for example, hand gun forum, weight loss forums etc

Scan the posts at the forums with the most reads and replies to get the topic with the most avid readers.

If you think you absolutely can’t write, you can and I’ll show you why later, than go to elance, rent-a-coder.com etc and bid your articles. I typically get them written for $5-10 per article. It depends on how much detail I want.

For example, I recently gave the writer the title, but also long tail keywords, or low hanging fruit keywords to include. I’ll talk more about how to find these keywords on just about any niche later down the chapter. This is key to you getting good, fast web traffic with highly targeted visitors. Plus your keyword phrase will be listed on the first page of Google, MSN, Yahoo! Why? Because these kw’s have no or very little competition. How hard is it to be listed 1 or 2 if there are 5 competitive sites? OOHAAH!
